we enjoyed a fantastic 1st visit to the gambia in april. We stayed at the holiday beach club in kololi, staff brilliant, Lammin the night security guard entertained us most nights along with Barry and Armstrong. Dont be afraid to trust bob the builder hes a great guy, just show him you have the measure of him first. The guys in the juice bars on the beach are very friendly and genuine, go see them in the mornings and buy some juice so they can go have breakfast, then watch them leave singing and clapping. Anyone going for the first time, be aware of the side effects from larium, they can be horrendous. I am still suffering now and it can go on for years. Panic attacks, feelings of being about to die, headaches, dizziness etc etc. My G.P has decided not to prescribe it to anyone else after seeing the effects it has had on me. There are also many more people suffering. Check it out befor you go and seek an alternative to larium. Other than that it is a fantastic experience and one which i will deffinitely be repeating.

Hello!
We just came back from our second visit to the Gambia. Again we had a wonderful experience, because we have been travelling around with our friend/guide. His name is Yankuba and he lives in Serakunda. You can make all kinds of trips to city's, fisherman places, natural parks, cattle markets and a jembe factory with him against a fair rate. For him this a nice way to earn some money and for tourists it's the best way to get to know the Gambia. That is why we would like to recommend you our experienced, nice and patient guide. For information you can call: +31-20-6470220 or send us an e-mail.
Best regards,

GREETINGS MY NAME IS MARIAMA TERRY JAITEH MUHAMMAD. I JUST RETURNED FROM THE GAMBIA FROM A TWO 1/2 MONTH VISIT WHICH WAS REALLY SUPPOSED TO BE A ONE MONTH VISIT. DUE TO MY EXTENSIVE TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE GAMBIA IWAS COMPELLED TO DO MY PART TO HELP THOSE I FOUND IN GREAT DESPAIR. BEFORE I GO FURTHER I WOULD LIKE TO SAY I REALLY LOVE THE GAMBIA AND THE PEOPLE AND I ENJOYED MY SELF. HOWEVER THE PLIGHT OF THE VILLAGERS WAS REALLY DISTURBING SO AS I RELAY THIS MESSAGE THIS IS COMING DIRECTLY FROM THE VILLAGERS. THEY ASKED ME TO BE THEIR VOICE AS THEY FEEL THEY HAVE NO VOICE. THE VILLAGERS OF NJABA KUNDA AND MAROUN KUNDA AND KINTE KUNDA, AND OTHERS THAT I DONT HAVE IN FRONT OF ME HAVE ASKED FOR HUMANITARIAN AID FROM THE OUTSIDE WORLD AS THEY FEEL VERY CUT OF FROM CIVILIZATION. THEY HAVE NO POSTOFFICE IN THE VILLAGE THEY MUST TRAVEL ALL THE WAY TO FARRIFINNE.THEY HAVE NO RUNNING WATER, AND NO ELECTRICITY. THE WOMEN HAVE TO WALK AT LEAST 8 MILES TO AND FRO TO WORK THE RICE FIELDS AND THEN COME HOME TO WIFELY DUTIES. THE FARMERS HAD A VERY POOR HARVEST THIS YEAR AND NO ONE ASSISTS THEM WHEN THEY ARE FACED WITH THIS DILEMMA. THE STUDENTS HAVE NO SCHOOL SHOES NO SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND SOME HAVE NO SCHOOL FEES. A LOT OT OF THE STUDENTS ARE WELL INTO THEIR MID TWENTIES. DU TO THE FACT THAT SOMETIMES THEY HAVE TO HELP FIND MONEY OR HELP IN THE HOME. UPON ALL OF THESE FINDINGS , GOD PUT IT IN MY MIND AND HEART TO FORM THIS ORGANIZATION, AFRICAN AMERICAM PROJECT RECONNECT TO AFRICA CHARITABLE ORG. OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES ARE TO RECONNECT AFRICAN AMERICANS TO THEIR CULTURAL HERITAGE WHILE THEY LEND THEIR SKILLS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA.WHILE IN THE GAMBIA I COLLABORATED WITH RAID GAMBIA ANOTHER NGO WHO HAS VERY SIMILAR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES WHICH IS TO ALLEVIATE THE PEOPLE OF ALL THE RAVAGING DISEASES THAT ARE UPON THE AFRICAN CONTINENT. AFTER VISITING WITH THE HEADMASTERS AND TEACHERS AND STUDENTS, WE ARE VERY COMMITTED TO THIS TASK OF FINDING SPONSORS AND DONORS TO AID US IN OUR PROJECT OF DEVELOPING AFRICA . WE INTEND ON DOING THIS BY BUILDING MODEL CITY VILLAGES WITHIN THE VILLAGES .THESE MODERN VILLAGES WOULD INCLUDE MULTISKILLED CENTERS WHEREBY THE VILAGERS WILL BE TAUGHT LIFE SUSTAINING SKILLS. WHERBY THEY WILL HAVE THESE SKILLS TO FALL BACK ON WHEN FARMMING IS UNPRODUCTIVE.THEY WILL THEN BE ABLE TO START A BUSINESS AT THE PROPOSED MINIMALL. THE NEW VILLAGE IS SCHEDULED TO INCLUDE POULTRY FARM COMMUNITY GARDEN PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITY WHERBY THE YOUTH WILL HAVE TIME TO ENGAGE IN PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITY. WHILE THERE I WAS ALLOCATED LAND FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS PROJECT .WE CAN NOT ACCOMPLISH THIS ALONE IT IS GOING TO TAKE A LOT OF DEDICATED INDIVIDUALS. WE ARE LOOKING FOR TEACHERS FOR COMPUTER CLASSES ,CARPENTRY,WELDERS AUTO MECHANICS. TAILORING HAIRSTYLIST. TYEDYE, ETC. CURRENTLY I AM IN THE STATES RECRUITING INDIVIDUALS WHO MAY BE INTERESTED IN HELPING WE ARE ALSO ASKING FOR NEW AND USED CLOTHING FOR ALL SIZES. WE ARE ALSO COLLECTING FOOD ITEMS, SCHOOL SUPPLIES GENERATORS, SOLAR PANELS. COMPUTERS.ETC TO AID THE VILLAGERS DURING THESE TRYING TIMES. WE FEEL THAT BY CREATING THIS MODERN VILLAGE WE WILL HELP IN ERADICATING THESE DISEASES BY VISION2020 DURING WHICH TIME THE YOUTH WILL WILL BE BUSY LEARNING VALUABLE SKILL AND WILL HAVE LESS TIME TO ENGAGE IN COUNTER PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITIES. AARCO HAS ESTABLISHED AN ACCOUNT WHEREBY ALL THAT HAVE CONCERN AND WOULD LIKE TO HELP IN THIS VITAL MISSION OF MERCY. ALL DONATIONS CAN BE SENT TO AFRICAN AMERICAN PROJECT RECONNECT TO AFRICA OR AARCO FOR SHORT ,TCF NATIONAL BANK #4866199570 801MARQUETTE AVENUE MINNEAPOLIS MN. 55408 OR TO THE STANDARD CHARTERED BANK SERREKUNDA BRANCH IN THE GAMBIA #0150540951000 IN THE NAME OF MRS.TERRY JAITEH. FOR THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO SEND SUPPLIES YOU CAN SEND TO 6600 67TH AVENUE NORTH #106 BROOKLYN PARK MINNESOTA 55428 C/O BAKARY JAITEH OR TO P.O. BOX 1184 BANJUL THE GAMBIA C/O LAMIN TUNKARA . WE PRAY THAT THIS MESSAGE WILL TOUCH THOSE OF U THAT READ THIS MESSAGE AND REALIZE THAT WE ARE OUR BROTHERS KEEPER AND WE ALL NEED TO DO WHATEVER WE CAN DO. ONCE AGAIN U CAN CONTACT ME AT AARCO31@MSN.COM OR CALL ME 763-5363952. I AM DUE BACK IN THE GAMBIA AROUND MID MAY EARLY JUNE. I MIGHT ADD THAT WE ARE SEEKING SPONSORS FOR AN OFFICE /GUEST HOUSE IN THE GAMBIA AS WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKIN OUT OF A VERY SMALL BEDROOM AND PARLOUR OF THE PROTOCOL OFFICER'S HOME THAT HE SHARES WITH TWO OTHER AARCO VOLUNTEERS. BUT DUE TO OUR COMMITTMENT WE ARE MANAGING. HOWEVER WE ARE IN DESPATE NEED OF A OFFICE AND GUEST HOUSE TO HOUSE ANY OVERSEA VISITORS COMING IN WHO MAY BECOME TEACHERS. SO IF ANYONE WHO READS THIS KNOWS OF ANYONE WHO CAN CONTRIBUTE BY WAY OF THIS OFFICE/GUEST WE WOULD BE MOST HAPPY SO AS TO ENABLE TO PERFORM AT OUR LEVEL BEST. WE ARE ALSO SEEKING SPONSORS FOR A DIESEL ENGINE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SUV, WHICH WOUKWOULD SERVE AS A VEHICLE FOR AARCO TO GO ON OUR COUNTRYWIDE SENSITIZATION TOUR OF THE GAMBIA,WHICH IS SO VERY VITAL TO US REACHING THE PEOPLE AT THE GRASS ROOTS LEVEL LEVEL TO INFORM THEM ON HOW TO PROTECT THEMSELFS FROM THESE ILLS.PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL FUNDS OR DONATIONS CAN BE VERIFIED AS WE PLAN ON PUBLISHING A NEWSLETTER WHICH WILL KEEP EVERYONE CURRENT ON AARCO AND RAID GAMBIA. IN FACT RAID GAMBIA ALREADY HAS A NEWSLETTER. OUR NGO #IS A95. PPLEASE HELP US HELP THE MASSES. MAY GOD BLESS U ALL FOR TAKING TIME AND TAKING ACTION . ANIXIOUSLY AWAITING YOUR HELP HELP AND RESPONSES. THANK YOU MARIAMA TERRY JAITEH MUHAMMAD DIRECTOR AARCO.

Its bad enough that I keep getting spammed to death by these credit card debt offers. It seems like everywhere I turn I see ads for repair credit this and that. Now these companies are posting messages on your guest book to advertise their credit counseling services? Give me a break! Maybe some of us don’t mind having bad credit and just want to use the Internet in peace. Post your junk elsewhere.

I am thinking of visiting The Gambia later this year. I have been trying to get some information on how to get there (fares, airlines etc), but no luck. Would anyone be able to suggest a site / travel agency (whatever) where I can start to do some research, so that my dream of visiting can become a reality? Djembe, balafon, dounouba, tama, and conga are played by Yaya accompanied by a flute on three tracks. Two selections are exclusively drumming. Sound samples available at www.cdstreet.com/artists/onzourecords. This classic album was first published as an LP in 1980.

I will be visiting The Gambia next month, and this page have been very useful. I met one person from Gambia during my studies in Holland, and I would like to know if he is in The Gambia. Perhaps you could help me to find him. His name is Jackson Sillah. He had an e-mail (a mailcity account), but it seems that he is not using it anymore.

Hilsen Trine
