Goat in Tree
Tendaba, 1991

This goat has climbed up a tree branch for reasons I can not speculate. Goats are ubiquitous throughout The Gambia and they are for the most part not fenced in. They will eat anything and everything. Children are usually responsible for watching the goats, for a wandering goat can be very destructive to crops and gardens. The owner of a goat who eats his neighbor's food is required to pay damages.
