These attractive lizards can be found all over the country. Gambians in general don't like them and I even heard a number of superstitions about these lizards such as if a lizard spits in your food and you eat it you will die, or that some lizards will wait on top of door ways to jump on whoever walks through. They're fun to watch though, especially when they do their "pushups".
